You're invited to attend the fourth "Boardroom Series" presented by Heymiss Progress and the Black Women's Leadership Conference on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13TH FROM 5PM TO 6:30PM. In this series we'll visit boardrooms across the state and hear from women and men in key leadership positions. Our key goal is to create opportunities for Black women to thrive in their professional careers.
This month we'll hear from Sandy Morales, CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County. For 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has provided children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentor relationships that change a child’s lives for the better, forever. The organization strives to help at-risk youth reach their full potential through one-to-one mentoring. BBBS serves close to 650 children annually and has a wait list of 300 children waiting for a Big Brother or Sister.
Our Black woman owned business highlight of the month is Howanda Janneh, co-owner of African And American Fits. African And American Fits African And American Fits is involved in modernizing African material or incorporating American/hip-hop culture into our designs to provide unique and more appealing products for our everyday wear. .
