FACES OF INCARCERATION; Changing the Narrative
is an art show hosted by DILLON Gallery featuring portraits of people once and currently incarcerated, men and women whose stories represent the 55,000 inmates caught up in the Wisconsin mass incarceration pandemic that disproportionately targets people of color.
Faces include Jerome Dillard (Dane County Reentry Services Coordinator), Caliph Muab'el (Breaking Barriers Mentoring), Rudy Bankston (Memorial High Community Liaison), Anthony B Cooper (Director of Reentry Services, Nehemiah Center), John Givens (Reentry Services Madison Urban Ministry), Frank Davis (Full-time student), Sabrina Progress Madison (Creator, The Conversation Mixtape), Robert Agnew (Human Resources, Meriter Hospital) and others.
At 7:00 Sabrina Progress Madison, Motivational Speaker Socialpreneur Poet, and sister to three incarcerated brothers, will perform; and Oscar Mireles, Madison's first Latino Poet Laureate will read works on incarceration.
