Named one of Madison's most influential people in Greater Madison by In Business Magazine, Sabrina Madison, affectionately known as “Heymiss Progress” is a socialpreneur, motivational speaker and poet. Progress is also founder and host of the Conversation Mixtape, an organization created to inspire, influence, and bring black men and women into spaces to facilitate conversations around love. She also created the Black Women's Leadership Conference, a sold out event for Black women seeking professional and personal development opportunities.
Progress’s journey to living a life rooted in love began as a young girl seeking peace in a dysfunctional family. Progress was two weeks to her 16th birthday when she gave birth to her only child in Milwaukee, Wisconsin after stretches of running away from home and not making positive choices. As a young mother Progress witnessed the continued destruction of her family. From the incarceration of her younger brothers to her mother suffering through an abusive relationship; life was nothing short of chaos. She decided then as a young mother that she wanted a different outcome for her and her son, and began the journey that would transform their lives. During this time Progress turned to poetry and speaking about her life to begin to heal, grow, and learn from her upbringing. It was then that she discovered a new purpose in life: motivating and inspiring others.
Since committing to live her life rooted in love and inspiring others to do the same she’s grown her social networks to include teenagers, community leaders, business owners, single parents, married couples and more! Together with her social presence in the community, Progress purposefully works to inspire people through motivational speaking engagements, poetry features, cultivating community events, and interacting with her growing online social communities.
Among being named one of BRAVA Magazines Women to Watch she’s served as the State Ambassador for Madison College and competed in the National Poetry Slam.
Progress lives in the heart of Wisconsin’s state capital and is building bridges to love on stages around the country. She wants you to know that you’re beautiful.
How she continues to live rooted in love?
“It’s literally all love. By giving myself what I need I’m able to naturally extend that love to others.”

“Thank you so much for leading such an amazing workshop tonight and helping us recognize our strengths, name ourselves, and give voice to our dreams. Your energy is so contagious. Although we got a lot of work done, an hour was just not long enough. I was kinda sad when it ended. Thank you for all that you do to help make Madison a better place.” - Lashunda M.
“Huge thank you and shout out to Heymiss Progress for being on point tonight! What an inspiration she is! In just one hour she had me taking control of my strengths, and I have taken her advice to not only declare my dream, but to put a title on it! I don't want people to only see me as "the banker" or "the bartender" or "the fitness coach"... I love those titles, but I'm so much more than that! I dream bigger than that!” - Kelsey C.
“I learn so much from you lady and leave every time feeling inspired! I am ready to make my dream a reality. Thanks to all for their willingness to share information and help others develop their ideas. Loved the energy.” – Corinda R.M.
