On May 2-3, 2019 join us in Madison, WI for a two-day leadership conference for professional and personal development, networking, and strategic power sessions while promoting sisterhood and elevating the collective status of Black women.
The Black Business Expo supports and creates spaces for entrepreneurs of color to thrive! We bring together over 80 black-owned businesses to create a venue to buy and sell products such as apparel, art, food, jewelry and beauty products.
As a entrepreneur, advocate, consultant and speaker Sabrina’s expertise is in the following spaces: Strategic Community Development + Partnerships, Social Media Engagement and Overcoming Barriers to Professional Success.
She speaks. consults and presents on topics related to connecting entrepreneurs of color to resources, diversity in leadership, community engagement, overcoming personal challenges, advocating for students of color and more. Sharing her story about going from being a teen mother to creating the Progress Center for Black Women has won her numerous accolades.
The Progress Center for Black Women is the legacy I want to build for the greater Dane County area, first. It brings most of my work under one roof, quite literally, and represents a long-term commitment toward the progress of Black women and families.
The Center opened its doors to its temporary home in November 2018 and is currently fundraising to create the permanent building. The center offers unique programming and a space where Black women and their families can access resources, attend events and forge connections that will foster personal transformation, eventually transforming the community as a whole.
The permanent center will grow to house a computer lab for access and learning, a community kitchen for cooking lessons and experimenting, a library and bookstore to offer business resources as well leisure reading with a focus on Black authors and a community room where community members can test out their poetry, plays or other theatrical endeavors.
Our space space is comfortable, approachable and allows the community to have a sense of ownership of the space.
